Pump Selection Tool
Find where a pump's HโQ curve meets the system head curve. Enter the static lift, the pipe and fittings, and three points off the pump curve โ the tool locates the operating point and reports the flow, head, water & brake power, specific speed, pipe velocity and NPSH available.

โ System
System curve: Hsys = Hs + KsysยทQยฒ, with Ksys from friction + minor losses. Leave L/D/f blank for a static-only system.
โก Pump curve โ 3 points (Q, H)
Read three points off the manufacturer's HโQ curve (including shutoff at Q = 0 if you like). A quadratic is fitted through them.
โข Power, speed & NPSH (optional)
NPSHa = atm head โ vapor head โ suction lift โ suction-line loss. Fill this section only if you want NPSHa (zs is negative for a flooded suction).

Worked solution
โ ๏ธ Study/estimating aid. The pump curve is a quadratic fit through
three points โ read them carefully. Confirm the friction factor, minor-loss
coefficients and the actual pump & efficiency curves from the
manufacturer's data. Always check that NPSHa > NPSHrequired.
