Compute the geometric properties of any steel shape — area, moment of
inertia (Iₓ, I_y), section modulus (Sₓ, S_y), plastic modulus (Zₓ, Z_y),
radius of gyration (rₓ, r_y), torsion constant J — for Wide-Flange,
Channel, Rectangular & Round HSS, Equal Angle, Plate, and Round Bar.
Free to use.
⚠️ Idealised geometry. Properties are computed from a sharp-cornered,
three-plate model — they ignore root fillets, toe radii and corner radii,
so for rolled shapes the real tabulated A, Iₓ and Zₓ are a few % higher. Use
these for learning, checking and built-up plate sections; for final design
read the values from your official NSCP 2015 / AISC Steel Construction
Manual section-property table.

📋 These presets use designation-exact dimensions (the size IS the
dimensions — e.g. HSS 150×150×9, L100×100×10, Ø168×8). Tap a row to load it
into the Calculator. Properties shown are the idealised geometry values
(square corners). For W and C shapes, dimensions come from steel
tables — open the Calculator, pick the shape, and type your table's d, b_f,
t_f, t_w.
